hey guys! long time never hear from me?! now i shall post something that just happened!

It's malam kenduri! You probably won't know about this event. it is actually the Malaysian Students' Organisation (MSO)'s biggest event of the year! members will probably have fun, but not for a committee members (me! one of them..) we need to plan, find sponsors, meet people, negotiate, cook, serve food, refill drinks, sell raffle tickets and clean! quite tiring.. But FUN!

This year's theme for malam kenduri was Wild Wild West!

I didnt get to win any prizes from raffle draws... sobz! and there were a few prizes I like a lot! too bad...

Anyway, it's 3:38am now, and I should go to bed soon!

Miserable Life in Canberra

Starting from the part when I just came back to Canberra.. For the first two weeks, I actually suffered from serious illness. I had a few sickness come rushing towards me at a time. First of all, I caught a very big sore throat. At first, it's just a normal sore throat and I thought drink more water will solve the problem, but it turns out not as easy as I think. The next day, the sore got more serious to the extent that I can't even swallow anything including water, and can't even talk. It was a total disaster for me..

In the mean time, I caught a fever... and it's a high fever.. I actually went in to the hospital for these two sickness. The doctor said I'm having a high fever of 38.5 degrees I think, can't really remember, hehe ^^ Anyways, she said I'm probably too dry, in the end they gave me two panadol and have me swallow it on the spot, and gave me fluid drops!!!! of coz, she said if the case didn't turn better, then I might have to stay overnight in the hospital T_T that's when I freak out, coz so far, all the treatment is being covered in my OSHC (overseas student health cover), but hospitalised is not, then again, luckily I got a lot better after the treatment, can talk again, can eat again, and the fever also went off... I realized that the hospital system here is really different from ours, at least here, they make sure that their patients are recovered before sending them home, which is quite good.

Well, if you think that that's all, WRONG~~~~~~~ in the mean time, I also had rashes all over my body. When I went to hospital, the rashes only appeared on my palms, so the doctor thought it was the heat in my body that caused the rashes. But no, the nex day, the rashes extended to my legs, arms, body, everywhere. That's when I got nervous!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to see the health centre on campus. Usually, you have to wait for one week for the appointment with the doctor over there, but thank to God, they gave me an appointment which is just the same day's afternoon. Well, as I expected, the doctor said he didn't know at all what's wrong with me, just throw down statements liek it may be viro-tyoe and I might need to be semi-isolated T_T then, he asked me to go the another place to get a blood test (of coz, it's included in my OSHC again). So, I went there the next day, got the test done, got back my report after a few days, saying that I really got infected by a virus, but by that time, I was all good already ^^

Of coz, if you think that that's all, WRONG AGAIN~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ after a week, I got some sort of allergic on my lips. My lips got swalloned like SHIT!!!! So ugly T_T I can't even imagine how I go out with that swalloned lips. Luckily, it went off a few days later, using the vaseline that my fren borrowed me... THANK YOU, I really needed that...

Well, that's not all... Did I tell you all that I joined the SIGN mentoring program as a mentor? Hmm... I think not, since I haven't been updating.. haha =P It's a program to help out new students to get used to canberra's and uni's life better.. Apparently, they have a wine and cheese program to let the mentors to have a fellowship with one another. I went there with my fren just for the food, but when I got there, my frens were all tring out the wine. Then, I thought: A little try won't hurt, right? So, I did try out one glass of sparkling juice, and I ended up a little drunk, not to say drunk really, it's just a headache, but I did vomit, which is quite gross, I know... that's really a bad experience, but there's always a first time right? LOL...

Anyway, yeah man everyone's here. How have you all been ? As in Bobby Chen ( you all know who is that right ? ), eric, zaid and janice ? I still catch up with Alston every now and then, but the 4 of y'all.... especially Zaid. Where are you ??

The weird thing about my course is that the first year was actually tougher than the second year! Like seriously! I don't know why. I don't find myself being too stressed about studies this semester yet. I have even found the time to take up some dance classes! Everything's going quite smoothly except for a few minors bumps here and there but other than that, all's well =) Oh no wait, i've one issue. Insomnia!!! Help!!! Ask Alston, he knows. I've texted him like way in the middle of the night, begging him to cure my sickness. No just joking =p but yea i did text him cuz i got too bored of flipping in bed and i didn't know who else to reach to at that time of the night. LOL. Oh yea and i met up with Daphne last week. Or the week before. Same old daph, jokey and all. Oh but i heard from a mutual friend that she wears skirts a liiiittttllllleeee more often now. Haha..

Oh. One random fact. Did you know that the pearls from the bubble tea in front of taylor's are HEAPS nicer than the ones sold here ?? It is!!!

maybe it's because of the overly long semester break. and now i just cant seem to get on my feet and study again. i'm like so laid back right now. and i know it shouldn't be the way.

Here are some of the things I've been up to in the past few weeks..

We went to the Diwali Festival of Lights held at Bell Tower.
18th October 2008.

Besides seeing some really beautiful fireworks, we also found the coolest toilet ever!

It looks like buttons on a lift! Coolio!

We all had a good time, getting inside and figuring out how to use this high tech toilet! Once you go in and close the door, there will be someone talking, informing you that the maximum usage time is 10minutes, after which the doors shall open! Hahaha! And once the announcement is over, they even played some classical music!

Wandering around Perth city at night is FUN :D

Last Sunday, we went to Steve's Oval, which is really near college to watch the freshers vs seniors cricket match. The match had a super canggih name man.. wait I'll look it up on Facebook :P

Hi peeps! How are all of you doing? I'm sure most of you are busy preparing for finals and so are the people here in Monash M'sia. anyway, lets make it straight to the point. This is more relevant to my fellow friends in Melbourne =P

A few of us (carrie, jasmine, rachel and not sure bout chen wei) may be transferring to Monash Australia next year. We are able to get our ass over there but we would like to know how did you get to your apartment units/houses once you have arrived? Hmmm, any of you have any idea how far is it from the airport to Caulfield? How much is it to travel by taxi btw???

Anyway, all the best to everyone and do take care. dont stress yourself too much and maybe you can have some "emergency" chocolates? hehe. too bad, we dont have such chocolates here.

yup we shud all hv some fun cos uni life is supposedly one of the best times in ur life. and when i mean having fun, its not till we get overboard and slack on our studies. partying once in awhile is not so bad. but really really, pls do not slack on studies cos its really our stepping stone for our future. well, sorta. i mean, although the results we get is just a piece of paper, the knowledge that we get is important. ok,i sound like some aunty.

and after we graduate and enter the working arena, its gonna be much more stressful because we hv more responsibilities. :( i dont look forward to work actually. i took a part time job for fun during the winter break, and it was boring hell. i only liked the salary part. heheh. i really prefer studying. i actually told my parents this, and they got pretty worried. hahah. cos they want me to graduate soon and stuff.

uni life is a once in a lifetime thing...and its not only about studying, its about taking the most out of it that helps us grow and be a better person in the future as we are in the trasition of becoming young adults. seriously, i cant believe time really flies. i feel everything is moving too fast, dont u think? we are now in semester 2..and in 2 months time our first year is over. to me,i feel like i just came to malaysia not long ago..the memories of crying in the airport at the departure hall is so fresh in my head. haha. i hope i dont cry again when i leave Malaysia again nx year.

wohoo AUD falling. but i heard our ringgit also might fall :( sigh. hope not!!

hey...it has been a while since i last visited this blog...sorry...was too busy with studies and exams...but fortunately its over for now...having my break...hehe...well...i could understand how you feel karmun...lost of direction and stuff like that...it happens when you are off your usual comfort zone into reality where now you are on your own...take your time to adapt to this new environment...go hang out when you feel like it...cause out there, you are all by your own = FREEDOM...just do whatever you think is benefiting you but of course don't slack hokie dokie...later i fly to melbourne and beat your backside =p hehehe....

anyway...just some update...exam ended on thursday which was the 4th this month...went to my friend house for barbeque...sorry that i don't have the pictures with me now...hehehe..then the next morning we headed back to sitiawan with my friends...

this is somewhere in Lumut...Hmm...KM,KJ,GEO and Chen Wei, don't know whether you still remember this place or not...hehe...anyway we had ice kacang...

=) huge eh...want some??come down sitiawan la...hehehehe...

anyway...the main plan was to go Langkawi straight but the drivers were tired...that was why we stop by sitiawan for a night...then saturday early in the morning we drove down to kuala kedah if i am not mistaken...yea...from there we took a ferry to Langkawi...well...i shall let the pictures do the talking then...hehehe...

stop by a shopping complex for makan...hmmm...the food was good thought...but quite expensive...sigh...wallet was mourning a little that time...

a room we rented...8 person staying in a room...by right a room could only occupy 4 person but screw that...hehehe...there are no pictures during the boatride to langkawi...i was sleeping the whole journey...was still recovering from my lack of sleep during exams...during exam week, in 36hours i only had like 6 hours of sleep...so average 2 hours a day...cham...!!

hmmm...these??don't bother asking...you should know them pretty well...small but could get you drunk in no time... =D

langkawi cable car... =) people said that you can get nice scenery while on the cable car...well...that day will quite misty...couldn't get to see really nice scenery... =(

Peeps how's it going ? =)

Life here, i gotta tell you guys, is pretty much boring. Boring boring boring. At least for now.. Everyday i'm doing the same old stuff, same old routine. Morning wake up go uni come back eat bath online sleep. It doesn't get more interesting than that. I find that i have lost my direction, in studies, and in life altogether. I just don't get why am i here in Aus now when i really should get my butt back to Malaysia with my family. I miss them terribly ! Sorry but today is just one of those days where i ask myself, why in the world i came here in the first place ? I don't fit in here, anymore.

Some of you might be surprised at this. I'm so slacking in my studies nowadays. I simply can't focus in class. I understand nothing in the Math lecture, and guess what ? I failed my first Mathematics assignments badly. My test didn't go well either-i just scraped through the passing mark. My tutor's scratching her head, wondering how the hell i forgot that the limit of (1/x) as x goes to infinity is zero. Been skipping classes too. Kwee Loong gave me a stern lecture on that.. ahh he's like a big brother. During the weekends, i'm supposed to study, like now, but instead, i find myself wandering in the kitchen, snacking, or reading the newspapers, or just sleeping. Books make me puke. I'm just not in the zone nowadays. I save my pre-tutorial works for the last minute, and sometimes i don't even bother attempting them at all.

I'm making myself sound like such a loser here..

Anyways, i so wanna meetup with Kaitlin and Kent this mid-semester break ! Btw, for those of y'all who doesn't know, Kaitlin refers to Lijen. Hmm, we should so go out somewhere.. I havn't seem them for quite some time. Actually frankly speaking, i havn't been seeing Navi and Joyce in the uni either.. I still see Yean Ling once in a while in lectures. Argh i want to go out !! I want i want i want i want i want ! I'm sick of stuffing my face with lecture notes that doesn't even get in my head. I'm sick of staying at home, facing this stupid computer, trying to study but to no avail. I think i need a break. I really need this break to get my mind off things.. I think i'm going crazee ! Thank goodness the break is just around the corner. Just another freaking week of uni, and then i'll get my two-weeks break. After that, it'll be another 3 weeks before the dreaded final exam comes into the picture. And then after that, 3 months of summer holidays y'all ! Sad thing is that i'm not going back to Malaysia =(

Oh oh, before i forget. Happy Mooncake Festival !! Haha. At least i still get to eat mooncake here.. The boys bought and i ate some. Besides, my friend's mom made mooncakes, and she brought some for me ! Yummy. Winter's finally over.. Spring is here. I'm so charged for the weather to turn warm again ! This winter was definitely gloomy for me. Had loads of these to make me happy :

Hey guys. Just wanna update you guys that I've made it to Perth! It's absolutely beautiful here (albeit a little boring) but I'm loving the change of environment and the new friends I'm making each and every day. I'm living on campus at this place called St George's. It's really pretty, everyone here calls it 'the castle'. hehe So yeah as expected, people taking the commerce degree consist mostly of Singaporeans. I've only met a few Malaysians so far and most of em are from Sabah and Sarawak. But the place I live are full of locals so I've got a good mix of friends I'd like to think. hehe

Hmmm, 2nd semester commences this week and I'm trying to "adjust" myself again after 3 weeks of break. More and more unfamiliar faces around uni made me feel like I'm a total stranger. I suppose I'll get used to this for a week or two, perhaps when work and assignments start pouring in, I would not feel too strange in this place. in-transition mode atm, pardon me.

Right now, am waiting for the next lecture and it's gonna end at 5pm =(
I guess most of you all are still having your break, yea?
Not forgetting that Miss Shan Min is gonna leave for Perth this Friday.

I'm so bored here.. Been studying for the whole friggin week.. No 2 weeks actually. Finals are just next week and last all the way till 25th! No you guys are NOT gonna spend 7 nights together on a sofa bed (~~unless you guys want to~~), so don't worry !!
We'll figure something out. Kj kl's rooms are pretty spacious, ,can easily fit 3 people in each. My room.. erm.. I don't think so.. You see, it's kinda tiny and all. BUT it's the warmest room muahahahahah XD

Hey btw, is it cold in Canberra now ? Surprisingly, although it's winter here, it's warmer than it was back in autumn.. weird weird weather.

But still, it's cold.
People back in Malaysia, you guys sure are feeling lucky now.
No need to feel cold.
No need to wear like 4 layers plus socks and all to sleep every night.
And still feel cold after that !

Nevertheless, I'm very thankful to be spending the last few years of my education here. Am very grateful to my mommy and my 2 daddies, my grandmother, my uncle, and my big sister. I know I'm burdening them with an extra RM300k eventhough they've to make ends meet, and already they've so many commitments like pay loans debts house car food petrol ; the exchange rate is not helping either ! A whopping 3.15 compared to 2 point something last year. The Aussie dollar is growing stronger by the day, currently making it 0.96 against the USD.

Well, good news for the aussies, bad news for us..............

Oh, just to say, i had a wonderful birthday this year ! Thanks to everybody who made my day =) Yes dear kj that would most definitely include you too.. I'm not gonna go on and on about my birthday celebration, but i just need to tell you guys this ! I received the most.. erm.. different cake to blow on this year. And who could it be from but kwee loong ! It was all a surprise to me really. Wasn't expecting anything at all. The 3 of us were at the dinner table, i was reading newspapers and they were having dinner when all of a sudden the lights went off ! And they came out with.. tah-dah ! A muffin with 5 lit MATCHSTICKS stuck in the centre. Yeap matchsticks. Not the traditional pink striped candles or whatever. It was sososososo funny! But still, thank you =)

Anyways, i'm gonna go study now or something. Maybe shower. But then again, it's so cold !

Well, I suppose everybody is busy with exam/finals atm.
Ppl in Monash Msia would be having exam from the 6th of June till the 17th (business course)
So far, everything is on track.

hmmm...just some update since the blog is a bit dead...hehe...well...what can i say much...guess everyone is busying studying and rushing through their assignment...as for me...i kind of done with my assignment and presentation...coming week will be my study break and then . . . . . yes shanmin, uni life ain't exactly fun.
i dont know about the rest, but me, here, still in malaysia, finds that college life is way better..
currently i have 4 assignments due in just 2 weeks, that's like crazy...
i can't help but think that i took SAM for granted last year.
i always thought that SAM was difficult, everything is in a rush,
no time to breath, no time to have fun.. bla bla bla..
but looking back at things now, it's wayyyyy easier than uni..
and i wonder who said that uni was easier.. hmmm

remembering our ESL investigative studies,
i used to think that it was fun doing assignment.
i mean.. i get to do research, surf the net, do reference list (that's something new mar..).. and bla bla bla..
but now, i am so turn off my assignments! i do think that i prefer having exams.. lol.
and last time i used to think that Ms Angeline is teaching us too much and being too particular about the referencing and all, now... i just can't thank her enough!!

Hello me dears. How is everyone doing?

Agreeing to Kent's comment that this blog is a little dead, here I am posting, about my not so interesting life. Hmm.

Oh yeah. I have finally confirmed that I'm going to UWA in July. So Hwee if you could so kindly put that in at the 'Whereabouts' section so that I dont look like the only sesat-ed, uni-less person among all of us! :P haha! Well unless I do get that new zealand scholarship i applied for.. then I might head to Auckland.

WHY LA MY LIFE ALWAYS IN LIMBO LIKE THAT?

Anyways how are you peeps doing in Melbourne? Everyone sounds pretty stressed out about assignments.. Which is weird cause my cousin actually felt so relaxed during his first year in Perth! Why you all so stressed? :P

But but. I am sure yall are enjoying yourself at the same time right? Everyone looks nicely settled in, which is great news.

What else. I am still working in Sunway Pyramid. For those of you who dont know, I've been working there since mid January. This will be my last month. After which I shall spend all my time practising the piano and preparing for my piano exam in June. I better pass or else. It's like I've wasted 6 months of my life lounging around.

I can't wait to start studying again. Although I cannot say I miss rushing for assignments.

hi everyone ! i'm back from hiatus :) due to the fact that alston recently asked me to update the blog.. so here i am.. haha. happy alston ?

Melbourne's a total different place to be compared to malaysia. The weather here is sometimes cold, sometimes too cold, and at other times is so bloody hot ! The people here are also diff, quite different. The lifetstyles, the way they do things.. I've never seen people sitting on the grass under the burning sun in a 35 degree weather before, not in Msia at least. During the cold days, i finally FINALLY know how to appreciate the sun !

As most of you all know, i'm currently staying in the same house as kj and kl. It's pretty weird to know that you lose to two boys in cooking, trust me in this. I don't cook, seriously. Loong does most of the cooking in the house, and surprisingly, it's edible ! =D Sometimes, the 3 of us do funny things, like converse to each other in Bahasa Melayu for the whole evening, and sometimes we even resort to speaking mandarin in heavy China accent.

Things have changed. BAck in msia, i normaly don't do housework. Now, i have to vacuum, sweep, mop, wash clothes ( by hand ), hang clothes, wash the dishes, and i even took the initiative to sweep leaves off the front porch.. Honestly, after doing all these work here, i'm quite surprised at myself, at how lazy i was last time, how i never do housework, or how i never even thought of helping my mom at housework. So selfish !

Everthing here's expensive. Food for example. An average meal costs around 7 to 8 dollars. DOLLARS. Try times 3 and it's like well over 20 ringgit just to fill up your stomach. And after a few hours, you get hungry again ( cold weather makes you eat more, oh well, makes ME eat more ). So that's why we dont' always eat out. Most of the time, breakfast lunch and dinner is at home. Nowadays daniel pops in for dinner every now and then. Kent has also sleptover at our place once. And he complained that 3 of us lead a boring life, and it's a boring place, nothing to do, which is kind of true. Here's normally what we do :

Monday - Friday : Morning wake up wash up eat uni come back do work cook eat bath do work sleep
Saturday : Afternoon go market buy stuff come back do work do work do work cook eat bath work sleep
Sunday : do work do work do work do work do work do work do work do work do work cook eat bath sleep

Of course, in between doing work, there's abit of distraction, like online, tvb dramas in kj's computer, heroes season 2 also in kj's computer and calling my mommy. And for the boys, sometimes they play CS. And i always hear the same dialogue between those two when they play:

'' How come i didn't see you ? '' and
'' Ooi you use sniper ah ?? '' and
'' SHIT... how can i die '' and
'' Headshot !!!!! '' and
'' Not fair, you see me i don't see you wan..'' and
'' WAhahahahahahahaha!! '' and
'' Eh change map change map'' and
'' You suck man.. dun wanna play with you already lah you always lose.. ''

BOYs will be boys. Right ?

Anyways, we did meet up with the other M1-ers one night. Joyce and navi held this party thing, and we were supposed to bring friends and food, but we only brought the latter. It was held at the rooftop of Navi's apartment. And it was a very cold and windy night. Everyone was there except yean ling. Sigh.. I was excited to meet up with everyone there.. Lijen and Kent especially since i havn't heard from them ever since i came here. So finally i get to meet them and boy did we do alot of talking ! Jen and i even went down to have extra food - rice with sambal and pork ( plus i had another extra thing : pasta salad )... mMm..

Oh shit.. now that we're talking about food, guess what ? The first thing Jen said to me when she saw me was : '' KarMun, you put on weight ! '' and later on she proceeded to saying that i have more curves now. Haiz.. what to do.. I just can't stop eating when i'm here dammit. Must cut cut cut cut cut it all off !! Even kj said i put on weight :(

Public transport here is also very very costly. The cheapest ticket they sell here is $3.20 and even that is only valid for 2 hours. So we ( 3 of us ) walk to the uni everyday which is about 20 minutes away from our house. Good la at least i get some form of exercise!

Just a note: I've uploaded the video of the SkyFire, just to describe it to u all first and you can see it for urself later... It's actually a 20 min firework with specially designed soundtrack to go together with it, and is blasted off in the middle of the Lake Pauline Griffin, breathtaking view that really would make you forget to breathe throughout the whole 20 mins... But you can't really hear the soundtrack, b'coz of the crowd around us, as well as the sound of the firework...

It's not open coz it's Good Friday *dumb*, so we took another bus ride and went to Woden's Woolworth, at the bleak hope that it will be open... well, u can guess the rest...............

What's Emily doing??!! No idea, but if she sees this, she will definitely chase after me with a knife on her hand, aiks...

yea, we bought some red bean in the morning, and straightaway try it out at night, turns out to be quite ok, but then again, it's just quite ok ^^

this is just taken tonight, i.e. just now at Fellow Oval where we're participating in Australia's Earth Hour, something to do with switching off the lights to help bringing out climate change awareness, this idea were initiative born just a year ago in Sydney... So, ANU students come along together, using candles to form an earth with australia's land on it, cool rite?

Apparently, UniLodge (that's where I'm staying currently) has been very active and lively recently... They were giving out these glow stick u saw in the photo above, encouraging UniLodgers to go and have a say in the event... so we took this opportunity to take this photo...

Sorry for the very very delayed blog post, guys... I wanted to post this a long, long time ago, but just that i can't seem to find a chance to do so... Plus, there has been exams going around recently, which again delayed my blog posting some more... But just a notion of advice here...

Those who are already good at cooking shouldn't even bother to look at this post, coz that will upset me even more... thx for ur consideration^^

the old you-know-wad stuff, something that i cooked everyday when i first arrived here

i got faded up with all those mee-maggi thingie, so i finally decided to cook myself something nicer, which i had no idea that why it ended up something like the one above... ok, i admit...

so i decided to call back and ask my sifu a.k.a. mom about cooking vege... as u can see for urself at the above photo-taking... It's a HUMONGOUS breakthrough compared from before ^^

as i go along, i realized that that thingie up there is just way too plain and simple... so i modified it into something like this, NEAT rite??

obviously, vege only is definitely not enough... so u know... all those ask-my-sifu-a.k.a.-mom stuffs again, so i came up with something like this... I know, it's not a big deal for somebody, but for me, it's SOMETHING... Judging from that, i bet u can guess my cooking skill... ...

when times are good, and when time allows of coz, i'll treat myself with something like the above photo... i know, it's kinda chinese traditional eating style... rice which goes together with three dishes and a soup...

but when times are bad, and that time doesn't allow, i'll just cook during my afternoon break and pack for dinner, which basically ended up something like a lunch box (or should I say, "dinner" box)... but who cares... as long as there's something to eat ^^

celebrated my 19th BIRTHDAY on March 16!

two days before my birthday, shyan brought me to do my nails... AGAIN!!
hehehhe pampered sial..
felt like a 'tai si lai', sitting there, while the manicurist started working on my nails.. both hands and feet. hehehehe

dinner on the 15th of March with high school classmates..
these are the people who would randomly call me for dinner on saturdays..
but unknowingly, this saturday wasn't the usual saturday outings we had.
apparently, it's to get me out of the house, so they could 'ransack' my house and 'plant treasures'

i came back home, noticed that the front door was opened (usually it's closed),
and the house was in total darkness...
anyway bla bla bla (dont wanna be long-winded)..
presents were 'buried' around my house.. lol..
the final clue to this treasure hunting directed me to the nearby park...
leo drove me there, with another two friends =)

and when i got there, candles were lit everywhere! i followed the trail, and it led me to a tiny cupcake...
my friends all 'came out from their hiding place' and sang the birthday song..
hehehe cool-ness.
oh there was a total of 150 candles...
cool right!!! hehe =p

anyways, celebration was at home la.. where the birthday song was sang, again, hehe.. and there were TWO birthday cakes! whoa!

well...what will you do if you are so bored and have really nothing to do??well..easy...gather a few friends and have a steamboat...yeah...that was the Nottingham Kidz like us did...well...practically,my friends just moved in to a new house...yeah...they rented the whole house and the house was pretty much empty...well...is no furnish anyway...so no comment...but a friend of mine brought a pot that was good enough to have steamboat...and there goes the plan...went out and buy some stuff like fishball,meatball,veges,fishcake,mi and many other stuff for simple home cook steamboat with tom yam as the soup...

There you go...Our main dish...hahaha

and me..took advantage and camwhore a little...well..i bed see mun will do the same...hahaha...my sifu ma...XD

while we were eating,suddenly we felt so so hot...to tell the truth,there wasn't any fan in the dining area...so,the surrounding become HOT...plus our food...is HOT...and of course...i started to SWEAT like nobody business...sigh...why must i SWEAT so much...sad sad...so we decided to took of our clothes...i first started with one of my friend...see the guy with a bit bald head...yeah...his name is Alex...he went to took a shower while we were preparing the food...and came down without wearing his shirt...later my good sitiawan "TAI KOR"...the one below...yeah...he was complaining to us..."Tai Lou...Very very HOT le"...well...you may think which hot is he talking about...*must be mentioning how HOT he is*...

And even born around the same time! Around 10.30am like that....Wow. But she's angmoh la so no way we're twins or whatever. Hehe.

Yes, a sad 18th birthday but despite that I feel very neutral but also really touched cos I had friends who wished me and some people made a video of themselves cos they knew I was missing them like nuts and...yah.

This post should be written on the 22nd of Feb. But who cares la.

So what happend on the 22nd of Feb 2008???

It was the last day of the orientation week, freshies were supposed to have this whatever English Diagnostic test which, according to the orientation booklet, is to test students' English level/standard. And if one fails to meet the requirements, it seems that the student need to take some English course for a semester (a totally crazy idea, who is willing to spend a sem just for this??). It's a waste of time and $$$. But, we were told that the so-called-test was CANCELLED when we reached there!!! Hmph!!! We woke up bloody early just for this and it was confirmed cancelled only when we got there. =_='''

Since we're in Sunway, the smart 2 freshies (Carrie and I) decided to go for a long walk - Pyramid was our destination. It took us like ages to walk from Monash, walking under the blazing hot sun (it was around 0945) and passing by smelly longkangs. Not forgetting we were afraid too, okay, maybe not Carrie but just me. We need to walk pass those mechanic shops, knowing that most of the people working there are men.....

Okay, cut the crap. Fast Forward>>>

Finally we reached Pyramid safely but sweaty. We were desperate for air-cond. It was about 1000. Certain shops were not open yet. We headed for breakfast and chat for a while. Walked around since I'm so new to Pyramid's new wing (even till now, I dont have a clear picture of it). We went to Asian Avenue, look see look see.... fast forward... till we decided to visit Shan Min at "her shop" - Springfield.

We walked in as if we're customers. For quite a while, nobody came to layan us. We tried spotting Shan Min but she's busy at the counter I guess. Till she recognized me by my shirt. =_='''''''''' out of so many things, I still wear the same old shirt and pants for goodness sake.. FAIL LAAAA~~~~

bump into km, kj and kl today..! but didn't chat for long because i'm rushing to find my way out to trinity college to attend the under 18 thingy's orientation..and yup, no one there i know! haha...but eventually i met some friends from japan, indonesia, sabah, singapore and malaysians too! talk a little here and there la..still very mentah la our topic..haha!

well..pretty nervous on things that's going to go on day after day..

by the way..staying far from parents..here in melbourne..is not always that fun where all of you all are thinking..

classes!!hmmm...so far so good...15 hours of classes including tutorial...sigh...so jealous people like rachel only have 12-13 hours...so good...no need to study so much...plus you people only take 4-5 module one semester...sad people like me have to take 6 module per sem...hahaha...but is alright...hehe...

weekends!!...nothing much to do...boring as ever...the computer lab is something like my second home...sometimes i be in the computer lab from 11 am to 1 am next day...hah...super right...well..thats what happen when you are stuck in a place nothing better to do...hehe...

Wah everyones life like so fun and happening huh.
Anyways, I landed in Melbourne Friday morning about 8am+
Joined my family here in our rented house. I'll post pics after I take la hehe.
Went to peek at Monash Clayton campus today and its so so GIGANTIC. So initimidating. Not looking forward to my class on Tuesday at all! (I have Monday's free hehe)

hmm, then after they leave, me n my fren went to cook.. we cooked spaghetti~~ hehe! this time i cooked quite a lot!! but it was quite easy, i juz need to heat up the source.. hehe!

Greetings from Mehhh.

Finally got the chance to write and I guess I'm pretty late after seeing so many posts here. Whatever.

As mentioned by Janice, orientation week for me is so-so. Got to meet many familiar faces around the campus. Facilities provided here is superb so far. Spotted San Francisco Coffee at the cafeteria. But to all Melbourne Uni fellows. Dont envy kay. Cos your uni would have Gloria Jeans and if not mistaken Starbucks and more. You all will have a great time there. =)

Whereas for See Mun and Geoffrey, how are you all at Canberra? How's the environment and weather? Many Malaysians over there huh.

Classes gonna start next week and my schedule is pretty good. Only 13 hours of lessons in a week and I dun have classes on Friday. I have 2 classes per day and thats it. Blah. It looks so relaxing but not sure whether about the workload.

anyway, to all peeps, have a wonderful year ahead and anybody throwing mandarin oranges today? LOL. Melbourne peeps, try throwing some into the Yarra River and see what will happend. Okay, very funny. =_=''' and no, I dun follow such custom.

Maybe once you all got internet connection over there, do update us through this blog yea.

anyways, i'm down with fever a again.
second time this week! i went to the same doctor twice in a week,
what an irony.

i've enrolled with Monash Malaysia.
rachel, carrie, chen wei and eric are there too.
the campus is really good. there's lots of facilities there too.
and..... compared to taylors, monash is way better and bigger (hehehe).
can't imagine that i was stuck in Taylors for an entire year and i pretty much didn't know that there are bigger campuses else where.

and....
i'm STILL working.
work is CRAP.
my advice? enjoy uni life!!
working is totally no fun. especially when u're doing something u dont like.
so go after your dreams.. and dont ever regret whatever u've done.
lol.
working at IBM was really an eye opener for me.
and it sure has taught me loads.

Hey~ I'm at Canberra now... My parents just went back to miri yesterday, so i'm all by myself today... T_T

Anyone interested to listen to my LONG story?? yea? then better lend me your ears...
I reached Sydney on the 9th Feb, and transfered to Canberra via domestic airline (Virgin Blue) and you know wad? We got a LOT of luggage (mostly are mine of coz, haha) which make us even harder to move around... When we reach Canberra, the weather is just nice, but suddenly, it starts to rain and the wind became very very very cold... After a week staying in Canberra, even though it's late summer with bright sun, it's still very cold, especially when it's windy or rainy...

The people here is quite nice and friendly, very different from most KL ppl (but not u all la of coz, haha~) Those I met are mostly international students from all around the world, eg Japan, Korea, India, HongKong, China, Singapore, Brunei, UK, US, bla bla bla........ and of course Malaysia... not many locals, maybe they'll only be coming in later...

U know wad? I started cooking yesterday, but actually I forgot to buy onion, garlic and stuffs, so can only cook instant noodle T_T So, maybe I'll tumpang See Mun's place to eat, hahah, getting some benefit, coz quite lazy oso... haha, ok seemun? oh, by the way, can send me the photo we took on the bus tour that day? thx...

work for me is not fun. it's pretty boring and i really dont know how i'm going to survive there if my real job in the future is like that. oklah, maybe i'm just an intern and nobody really care to give me anything to do... or maybe they think since i'm an intern with no knowledge or whatsoever, that's why i can't help out...

but seriously, it's boring. the first whole week i spent staring into space. there's nothing to do, all i felt like doing in sleeping... at least now that i've gotten the laptop (i waited for a week plus for it!!), at least i can online. but there are times when i'm assigned to go to this place in damansara heights, there's no wireless connection. they only have dial-up which is really hard to connect, they also have limited cables and not all can go online.... that's the worst! i ended up playing Solitaire to past time. really thinking of installing games into the laptop so i can play it when i've got nothing to do.

it's only two weeks since i started work. and i really feel like quiting, but i simply can't do that.. just going to bear with it. today i managed to escape from work, i told them that i had to settle my uni application, but i ended up going to the airport to send my friend off, and also taking a good long nap for 5hours. when i woke up and got to monash, the office was closed already.

tomorrow i've got work again. at least tmr i'll be at the main office. there's wireless connection... there's also this machine where u get free drinks (milo, coffee, ice tea) , all u have to do is press the button.. hope things will turn out well tmr..

This blog is getting a LITTLE bit dead so I thought I'd update. I am currently working in Sunway Pyramid at a shop called Springfield. Do drop by sometime if you guys are in the area :) Work is actually quite fun. I have fun colleagues and the pay is pretty alright. Its def better than sitting at home watching 24 everyday! ;p

The Australian Open just ended. It was a bit disappointing for me to NOT see Federer perform like he normally does. I personally think Jo Wilfried Tsonga is good but very VERY ugly ;p Thank god Djokovic won! hehe I've been looking forward to this grand slam since November last year but due to work I only got to watch the last set of the finals live! Other than that, its just been delayed telecasts of the event :( Oh well.

Andd I cant believe Heath Ledger is dead!!! Its such a tragedy for him to die the way he did. I mean.. him on DRUGS?! WHATTT!! And to think that more screwed up people like Britney and Amy Winehouse are alive and kicking while one of my fave actors of all time.. one who seemed so grounded and not affected by everything Hollywood.. dead? I was depressed for a week :( RIP HEATH. Thanks for all the awesome shows that provided us with countless hours of entertainment. PS: Remember that time when we all watch Casanova in LAN class?

To Alston.. I'm sorry that life there is boring! lol but once you get to know people, things should get better.

hello...just wanna update you people how is it like being in university...first of all...my life here is super duper boring...unlike subang, is pretty much dead here...sigh...no nice food,no entertainment, and hell of a boring place...far from town...is like walking from subang to kelana jaya to go to town...sigh...and schedule..not bad...no class on monday...2 hours of lecture on friday...and of course the rest of the weekdays are quite pack...but...unlike those people staying in town,i have nothing here even if my schedule is so relax...my goodness..someone need to come and accompany me over here...is so boring...no mamak = no supper at night...i going crazy...even right now writing this post...i am in hunger...canteen was close for some stupid reason...i'm starving...is been 3 days in campus and i only take 4 meals so far...don't even know how i did that...well...hope to hear from you guys too...

wow. i didn't know that's how u all look for a place to stay in aust - through the internet & phone calls. oh well, i thought that u all could just arrange with the uni and the uni will surely 100% gurantee u a decent place to stay. oh well, katak di bawah tempurung. haha

it really surprises me at how yean ling have grown. lol. i sound like her older sister or her mom or something.....anyways the yean ling i know back then in taylors, she's always laughing and all, never really have much opinions on universities and all, she kinda depend on others to tell her those info, need a companion whenever u goes to the placement centre or idp to enquire for more info, late in registration and all (no offense ok! =) but just now when i read her post to kj and km, she actually is providing info to km and kj. not the other way round! that's a pretty big change i see in her, i would say. and it really seems that she's all grown up and is more mature now. keep it up k?? i have faith in you that u would grow into a wonderful young lady =)

It’s 3.32 a.m. in the morning.. I can’t sleep at all. Been online chatting and suddenly got disconnected.. and can’t sign back into messenger ! So I decided to turn to my other favourite pastime – tv ! Was watching some wah lai toi show.. But I wasn’t exactly concentrating. At all. I reached for my faithful sony ericsson and it was then that I noticed the date – 15/1/2008.

This means about another month to go before the airport gets flooded with tears of separation from my family and the familiarity I get around here in Malaysia.

Distracted from tv, I sat on the sofa and looked around the house. This is the house I have been living in for the past 9 years.. nearly a decade. Suddenly I begin to notice the little little things that existed in my house that I never really paid attention to. Those faded beige wallpaper that covers the walls of the living room, the scratches on the glass coffee table, the untidy stack of old magazines, the brown colour stains on the marble floor, and how well my mom positioned the sofas in order to obtain maximum walking space =) Bravo mom ! My eyes then turned to the big black luggage sitting patiently by my room door, eagerly waiting to fulfill its duties on the feb 18th.

Mixed feelings now. A part of me wants that date to come sooner, but the sentimental part of me dreads it. I tiptoed into my parents’ room , where mommy, daddy and joey are sleeping. For those of you who don’t know, joey is my little sister, 7 years old this year. And it was then that I observed their sleeping positions. Found it rather funny actually.. my mom with her right arm slapped on top of her head, snoring like she’s gonna eat somebody up. And dad was sleeping on his right side, hugging onto his bolster, sniffing his nose like every 10 seconds or so. Joey was well.. basically taking the biggest space on the double bed that the 3 of them are sharing despite her tiny figure, and taking majority of the blanket as well. To think that I’m going to have to leave them soon is simply saddening. Wonder whether only girls feel this, or boys too ? girls are more emotionally attached.. or maybe it’s just me. What do you think ?

Then I went into my big sister’s room. I had no idea why I suddenly felt like looking at everyone of my family member’s face. Lol. Now this is the girl that I used to bicker and squabble with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Last time I always wished she would get lost. Now I wish she could come with me. Having a bigger sibling by your side is always comforting. Am I gonna miss her ? definitely.

Still couldn’t sleep. I opened the huge suitcase of mine.. looking through the winter clothings bought last month. Looking at these really piled on the reality of omg-I’m-really-going-overseas-to-study. I wonder whether you guys feel this or not..

By now, I bet everyone of yall is sleeping, even the nocturnal Alston :D and I’m still here, thinking about how much I would be leaving behind, and how much of the fun family stuff I’ll be missing. I will think and think and sometimes it gets out of hand.. help ?

It’s getting real late now.. 3.57 a.m. I’d better be off to bed now.. wow I actually typed out my mind..

but at least, after the briefing, i realised that ANU is NOT as BORING as i thought. they got LOTS of activities for students there..
